Connection Interrupted. Recover.
3.07.2024 - 4.08.2024

The Moscow School of Contemporary Art (MSCA) and Ruarts Gallery present the group exhibition ‘Connection Interrupted. Recover.’, an interdisciplinary project by MSCA graduates: artists, curators and art managers. Works from 27 artists will reflect the search for ways to cope with traumatic events in life and gain the ability to move forward with confidence. The exhibition will feature installations, objects, video art, sculptures and paintings.

The exhibition project will be located on two floors of the gallery and divided into five semantic elements: ‘Turbulence and Uncertainty’, ‘Search and Acceptance of the Self’, ‘Connection with the Other’, ‘Attention to the Body. Grounding’ and ‘Connection with the Outside World’. All these blocks will be united by the central idea of self-cognition and exploration of the surrounding world through bodily practices and the strengthening of social contacts.

“It is these tools that help us cope with trauma during periods of life upheaval,” explain the exhibition curators, MSCA graduates Evgeniya Golman and Eteri Ordzhonikidze.

“We always strive to support students and graduates in their professional realisation. In particular this will be the diploma exhibition for students of the Contemporary Painting programme curated by Pavel Grishin. It also serves as an opportunity for graduate curators and art managers to prepare and present a fully-fledged exhibition project,” says Mikhail Levin, director of the Moscow School of Contemporary Art.

The following artists will take part in the exhibition ‘Connection Interrupted. Recover.’: Mariia Andrievskaia, Ekaterina Antanovich, Anna Birch, Maria Chelnokova, DIAL, Anna Galitsyna, Maria Giraudon, Natalya Gracheva, Maria Kavardak, Anna Kirillina, KK, Daria Klementieva, Anastasia Litvinova, Alla Mezentseva, Radmila Migulina, Mariia Michi, Victoria Mukhonko, Irina Nikulina, Olga Poplavskaya, Alyona Popova, Kristina Roudyk, Alexander Shameev, Varvara Silantyeva, Daniel Tyrtyshnikov, Doroteya Volkova, Dee Weylin, Margarita Zhuravleva
