Nazar ISSUE (b. 1990, Simferopol) is a Russian artist and graffiti writer whose works combine typographic compositions and abstract-geometric plots in the "urban glitch" style. He began painting graffiti in 2004. In 2014, he graduated from the master's program at the Crimean Institute of Information and Polygraphic Technologies and moved to Moscow in the same year. In 2016, he started experimenting with street practice, moving away from classical graffiti. Since 2018, he has engaged in studio and exhibition activities. He’s a participant of many projects, festivals and exhibitions focused on urban art in Russia and abroad. Nazar ISSUE creates font compositions and geometric abstractions. He manipulates with different materials and techniques, works in both interventions – urban and studio. Constantly looking for a perfect color scheme, ISSUE explores an improvisational approach in his creative process. His style is determined by the interest to modern technologies, digital aesthetics, and new visual experiences. The artist reflects on the possible role that chance and impact of digital technologies might play in the society. His works are represented at the Ruarts Foundation.
