Biography
Kir Esadov was born in 1988 in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University. Esadov is also a graduate of the Rodchenko Art School of Photography and Multimedia. In 2012, he participated in the Fotofest Biennale in Houston (USA), and then at the International Photography Art Fair and at the Seoul Photo Festival 2013 (South Korea, Seoul, Anyang and Gwangju). In 2015, Esadov was acknowledged as one of the 50 most relevant contemporary photographers in Russia and Ukraine according to the Dostoevsky Photography Society. He was published in BURN, Snob.ru, Afisha.ru, Art Newspaper Russia, IKONA-magazine and in many other publications. The author is characterized by black-and-white photos in which the faces or bodies of models, often exposed, are “snatched” by the light from deep darkness: the contrast and the absence of clear lines give Esadov’s photos plastic expressiveness, drama, phantasmagoricity and erotic charge.
