Biography

Grisha (b. 1989, Khimki, Moscow Region) is a contemporary artist who, alongside graffiti and small-scale granite sculptures, experiments with diverse materials as a graphic artist. Many of his works are executed with an ordinary gel pen, their detailing striking in accuracy and scrupulousness. This method Grisha has transferred to creating relief images on foil. He collaborates with artist 0331с. As part of the 7th Moscow International Biennale for Contemporary Art (2017), a joint exhibition with 0331с titled "Soot" was held at MMOMA, organized in collaboration with the Ruarts Foundation. In 2018, he participated in the exhibition "Wall Elements" at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall (St. Petersburg). In 2019, Grisha, together with 0331с and Alex Partola, made an illegal descent into the abandoned section of the Paris catacombs; in 2021, the Ruarts Foundation hosted an exhibition of photo documents dedicated to this journey, and the book City from the Dungeon was published. In 2022, Grisha's first solo exhibition at Ruarts Gallery took place under the Horror vacui concept, titled "Unacceptable Luxury" In April 2023, the Ruarts Foundation presented "Our Stone Age"—a performance by Moscow artists 0331с and Grisha about the daily life and fashion of people in the "stone future." The authors created a collection of clothing items, accessories, and dishware from crystals of various origins. The video work was included in the Ruarts Foundation collection. That same year, the Ruarts booth at Cosmoscow, featuring works by Luka and Grisha, was recognized as the best booth of the year.
